This is a free 12-week course for those required to complete a parenting class or who are working to maintain or recover custody of their children.
This research-based curriculum introduces parenting strategies and supportive discipline tools, educates about age-appropriate developmental expectations, encourages parental nurturing and self-care, and provides opportunities for peer support. Sessions address parents’ sense of self-worth, personal empowerment, empathy, bonding, and attachment.
Participants interact with other adults to share parenting experiences, gain support, and build connections and friendships. There is no cost to parents. Those enrolled are expected to attend at least 10 of 12 sessions.
This class is currently taking place over Zoom. To register for a series, please reach out to Linda Block at LindaB@childrenandfamily.org or 828-515-4541.
