The NC Child Care Commission approved new rules that go into effect on July 1, 2015. The rules require that all licensed facilities complete the Emergency Preparedness and Response in Child Care Training. An administrator or designated individual of a current program must obtain training by July 1, 2017.
The EPR in Child Care training for early educators is an in-person training. It has two separate face-to-face training sessions. Each session will last approximately two hours and has a one hour assignment between sessions.
Session 1 covers planning and preparing for emergencies in early care and education settings. It includes an overview and an introduction to the online EPR Plan template.
After Session 1, the participants will return to their facility with an assignment of preparation work for completing the online EPR Plan.
Session 2 will be held on Saturday, September 24 and covers questions about the assignment, practicing, responding and recovery related to emergencies.
*Light Snacks will be provided
This training has limited spots.
