We are pleased to announce Heather Erwin as the Center’s new Early Care & Education Coordinator. Erwin will oversee all aspects of the Child Care Resource & Referral program working with the child care centers, PREP- a preschool screening program, and the Early Childhood Workforce Development Program offered at Children & Family Resource Center.  She will also provide technical assistance and professional development learning events for child care providers in Henderson and Transylvania Counties

Erwin joined CFRC in 2014 and most recently served as Lead Early Childhood Program Consultant. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Child Development and Family Relations from Western Carolina University and has over 23 years of experience working with children and families in Henderson County. At the beginning of her career, Heather worked with CFRC’s PREP program and then spent eleven years as a lead teacher in one of our local preschools. “We are thrilled to expand Heather’s leadership at CFRC.  Her extensive background in child development will be a great addition to our Early Care and Education programs, creating high quality learning experiences and building strong foundations for Henderson County educators and our smallest learners,” added Jamie Wiener, Executive Director.
