Tanya Dennis, AAS, BS, M.Ed in ECE
Tanya Dennis is a North Carolina native. Dipped and Fried!! She grew up in the “little, big town” of Holly Springs, NC. A only child with lots of cousin, relatives, neighbors and just plain good folk! Life was and still is filled with food, fun, laughter and never-ending stories.
She has worked in the early education and care industry for 33 years. Her formal education is woven in the strength of our NC community college and university systems. She has worked for noted programs such as Head Start, Smart Start partnerships, NC Public Schools, UNC-Frank Porter Graham and our North Carolina Community College.
Tanya is committed to serving young children, their families and early educators. She believes her “true grit” direct approach to play, learning and living invites a multitude of adventures, experiences, relationships and developing approaches to early education.

8:30 Opening Session: “KISS MY ACES: The ABC’s of Supporting Young Children’s Well-being from Beginning to Beyond”
This opening session will provide participants with an overview of why the first 2000 days are vital to not only entering, engaging in and exiting Kindergarten, but rather recognizing, rearing and responding to well children and adults! Through engaging experiences, the audience will enhance their knowledge about children’s development and factors influencing the behaviors of young children.

Breakout sessions will provide practical daily and environmental strategies to support children’s developmental behavior. We also provide ways to enhance family partnership and engagement.

11:00 Closing Session: “Taking Care of You While Taking Care of Them”
This interactive session will take professionals on a journey of self-care and wellness. Staff will understand how their role impacts young children’s development. They will gain practical and affordable strategies to integrate in the home and work lfe to maintain personal wellness.
