Our training & technical assistance services help child care providers meet licensing requirements and increase or maintain their quality rating.
Technical Assistance
Technical Assistance services are provided to individuals who are interested in providing legally operating child care in Henderson County, NC. We will work with you to create a quality child care program that meets the state’s licensing requirements. Services focus on quality improvement and compliance for those who operate child care centers and family child care home programs, helping new programs become licensed and earn or maintain a quality star-rating from the NC Division of Child Development.
Services include:
- site visits and onsite assistance
- provision of licensing materials and regulation guidelines
- pre-licensing training for new child care programs
- assistance obtaining a license
- development of customized training plans
- assistance with corrective action planning
- community trainings & support groups for child care providers
- newsletter with information for child care providers and a training calendar
Quality Maintenance & Support Services
For programs that have already earned a star quality rating and who wish to maintain or improve their rating or reapply for stars with the NC Division of Child Development, we offer Quality Maintenance & Support Services.
Services include:
- Online assessment
- Observation
- Creation of an improvement plan
- Training on the use of the Environmental Rating Scales
- Training on topics identified as deficiencies in the improvement plans
- Technical Assistance and consultation
- Assistance with preparing for reassessment by the NC Division of Child Development
