Parents as Teachers (PAT)

Give your child the best possible start!

The Parents as Teachers program is a nationally acclaimed, research-based parent education and family support program.  This program works with parents until their child reaches age 5, to provide them with parenting support and information on their developing child.

The program provides practical, hands-on information and techniques that help you be the best parent you can be through:

  • Personal visits during which your parent educator do an activity with you and your child and will share age-appropriate child development and parenting information, help you learn to observe your child, and address your parenting concerns.
  • Parent group meetings are a fun way to connect with other parents with children the same age as yours.  You’ll enjoy activities for the whole family while you learn andshare how-to information about parenting issues and child development.
  • Developmental screenings to assess your child’s overall development as well as health, hearing and vision.
  • Resource network that links your family to other community services.
